About My Bun(s)
MAGGIE, TAFFY, LEAH and DONOVAN
1. What is your bun's breed? Maggie and Taffy are both mixed breed pets. Leah and Donovan were our very first Holland Lop breeding pair.
2. How did your bun get its name? Maggie- It was just a name we liked at the time.
Taffy- Was the runt of the litter, and we hand raised her, so her original name was "Tuffy" (Toughy). But she ended up being a girl, so Taffy was a bit more feminine.
Leah- Again, just a pretty name that I liked at the time.
Donovan- Technically my brother's rabbit. My brother is an Eagles fan, so his rabbit was named after Donovan McNabb of the Philadelphia Eagles.
3. How old is your bun(s)? As of 2008- Maggie is 6, Taffy is 5, Leah will be 4, and Donovan is 4.
4. When and How did you acquire your bun? adopt? One day in early March, our family walked into the local pet store to pick up some food for our first bunny, SugarCookie. They had just gotten in a cage of Easter bunnies, and needless to say, food wasn't the only thing we brought home- welcome home Maggie! A year later, we bred Maggie to have baby bunnies to show at the 4-H fair...hello Taffy! And it was downhill from there. I wanted to try my hand at breeding purebred rabbits, decided on Holland Lops, and next came Leah and Donovan!
5. Name 3 things that your bun does to make you smile. My rabbits make me smile everyday. No matter what kind of day you've had, there is something completely irresistable about seeing your bunny's face at the end of the day.
6. What is your bun(s) favorite food? Anything but rabbit pellets! LOL!
7. What is your bun(s) favorite toy? Strangely, my rabbits don't like most of the expensive toys I buy them. They much prefer a cardboard toilet paper tube stuffed with hay or an old cardboard box to rip and shred. They're cheap pets!
