4. Where do you live?
I live in Southern, CA with my boyfriend of 7 years.

5. What is your profession?
I graduated from UCI with a BS in neurobiology and I just finished my Masters in Education in June '03. I currently teach 6th graders (I know biology and education is a weird combo... but lets just say i am "well rounded", it sounds better than "couldn't decide what area to pursue")

EDIT: I have recently quit my job to pursue my dream... Currently I am a vet assistant with my local animal hospital and I hope to enter vet school in Fall 2006... WISH ME LUCK!

6.. What are some of your hobbies/interests?
I love to read, write, go shopping, watch movies, play tennis and spend time with my bf and my bunnies.

7. How did you get the bunny bug?
it was a lazy day and i was BORED! so i was just veggin on my bed flipping thru the tv channels. i usually skip right thru the public community channels b/c they are usually like community meetings, political stuff and/or uninteresting infomercials, but that day instead of pressing the individual channels i was SO lazy that i was just pushing the channel up button. thats when it came to the public channel called "pets place." my city has a show that brings on homeless shelter animals; dogs and cats usually... so that the general community has the opportunity to see an animal that they might want to adopt. well that day there was the most beautiful golden color bunny named houdini. i couldn't take my eyes off the tv. i think i have always loved animals but i never had more than a fish for 2 reasons: #1 i am allergic to cats and #2 my parents aren't into animals that require alot of care... so since i was watching the tv in my own apt an idea started brewing. i thought about houdini for the next couple days... finally when i decided to adopt him and my roommates said sure, my bf and i went down to the shelter where he was and tried to adopt him. BUT unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) he had already been adopted! i was so bummed b/c i had my heart set on him... well that just started the whole "bunny bug" for me!! the research began... i found and adopted cinnabun, adopted nilla, adopted opie and adopted snickie! its been a great adventure and i am still waiting for more...

About My Bunny

1. What is your bun's breed?
Broken Opal French lop

2. How did your bunny get its name?
Her official coloring is 'broken opal' so i originally called her Opal, but it got shorten to Opie sometimes and after a while she wouldn't respond to Opal anymore!

3. How old is your bun(s)?
She turned 3 years old on July 21, 2005

4. When and How did you acquire your bun? adopt?
I went to my first rabbit show in Pomona, CA in November of 2002. I've never seen so many different rabbit breeds... I was in LOP heaven!! hehe... I was watching the french lop show when I saw one judge disqualify a french lop for not having the correct butterfly markings on her nose. After the judge went onto another french lop, I came up to the lop he had disqualified and said "Don't worry, I still think you are beautiful!" The breeder heard me and said "Do you want her?" Before I could think rationally I heard myself say "YES!" So Opie came home with me...

5. Name 3 things that your bun does to make you smile.
1. She does the biggest binkies i've ever seen!
2. She knows her name and comes running just like a doggy when i call her.
3. I love petting her long beautiful ears!

SNICKERDOODLE

1. What is your bun's breed?
Japanese Harlequinn Mini Rex

2. How did your bunny get its name?
She reminds me of my favorite cookie - snickerdoodles - b/c of her interesting coloring and her sweet personality.

3. How old is your bun(s)?
She is approximately 4 years old.

4. When and How did you acquire your bun? adopt?
I first met SnickieDoo aka Cinnimini from a fosterer's pictures back on another rabbit board known as BunnyButz (thanks Cinni for a great place to meet other rabbit lovers!) and continued to love her as they continued to post picture after picture. At the time, Snickie was hard to adopt out. Some people don't realize that a behavior at the shelter, with a little love can be altered and the perfect bunny can emerge. Fortunately her foster parent saw what a wonderful "hidden" personality she had and brought her home. As more months went by with no one interested in SnickieDoo, I entertained the idea of adopting her. I talked with her foster mom about it, but I was never really sure if it would happen. Why? Well there's a little catch: Snickie lives in Canada! Luckily transport was arranged thru the local rabbit rescue and another LL board member, Andyra (thanks to both of them!). Now I am the one sending the pictures.

1. She loves to flop!
2. Her fur is the softest thing i've never felt
3. She is very calm and lets me hold her for long periods of time...

BonBon

1. What is your bun's breed?
Torte Holland Lop

2. How did your bunny get its name?
I lost my dear sweet bunny, Cinnabun, to a heart attack and i didn't think i could adopt another rabbit, b/c his passing broke my heart, but when i went to the Pet Expo and saw a bunny that could have been Cinnabun's twin brother, he won my heart. in memory of Cinnabun and the Cinnabon store i named him after i decided to name the new bunny, BonBon.

2 years old

4. When and How did you acquire your bun? adopt?
I went to the Pet Expo March '04, with no intention of adopting another bun, but when i saw BonBon, i fell in love almost immediately!

5. Name 3 things that your bun does to make you smile.
1. i love the way his head bends backwards for head rubs!
2. he runs back and forth, binkies here and there, when its feeding time.
3. He has a very sweet face...

My Final Thoughts

I have met and talked to so many people that share my love of bunnies since I first adopted CinnaBun back in 2002. I am grateful to all of them for sharing their lives and knowledge with me... so far I've had the pleasure of meeting NICOLE, ALAN, SALLY, ANDYRA, PATTIE, JAZZAROOSKY, EMILY, SANDRA, ANGIE, MATT, KIM, RICK, BETH, MIKESCONE, THERESA, TARA, DAYNA, ANN, ALOHI, and KRISSY. I hope in my future travels I will be able to get out to Georgia to see CINDI, Florida to see CINNI, Tennessee to see CADBURY, Japan to see TASHI&PADMA and Canada to see all LL canadian members, Malaysia to see JACKIE, New York to see BRENDA and many others I am sure I have forgotten but I hope to meet...
